i think it would be good if we all mention where were at so we can meet up in real life and buy/trade/sell our equipment without worrying about shipping damages. ill start off by saying im in connecticut, US

Hi!

By default I populate the "Location" with the country provided when registering on LDDb.com.

But anyone can easily update this to put more details on their User Control Panel.

I am in Warwick, in the heart of England in the UK. That puts me in easy range of surrounding areas of Leamington Spa, Kenilworth, Southam, Hatton etc and cities like Birmingham and Coventry.

Also, because of my location I am only a few minutes away from 3 major motorways (Freeways, I'd guess, to our American forumites) so can easily reach London or the east and west coasts in 2 hrs, and the south coast in three.

I am a firm believer in 'travel to collect' if at all possible. I have received 2 LD players via post and have been supremely lucky with them in that they work just fine, but I soon saw the sanity of not doing so anymore.

Should the need ever arise, I am happy and willing to meet a person half way, or all the way should the fuel consideration be taken into account.

Northwest Arkansas here. Unfortunately, sans one store, no one carries anything LD based that I could find - thrift stores or otherwise.

I'm in southwest Montana. I find the occasional laserdisc player in thrift stores. Its usually a very old model that's over priced.

me and my freinds aggressivly hit the nearby thrift stores all the time and have only ever found 1 laserdisc, and never seen a player

I regularly travel 100 miles to pick up collections, 1 way. If there is even 1 disc I want I will get the thing. I got a collection in long beach today - 156 round trip and one in san diego where I picked up an awesome copy of the Graduate and a Beautiful Copy of Fiend without a Face. Very nice copy. Oh, San Diego was 150 miles. Put 300 miles on my car today for 50 LDs.

I dont mind getting the spares. I just dump the common stuff. I am looking for that one gem, lol. My gem of last week was X the Unheard Music. Got a very nice copy for 5 bucks. Was well worth the trip. Plus, we go out to eat somewhere around where we end up.
