Hello everyone

I live in Maidenhead around 25 miles West of London UK,

I am the type of person who will travel to collect, as long as the Petrol is taken into consideration.

I have travelled a round trip of approximately 800 miles, to collect an HLD X9 from a forum member of another site, who lives in Newcastle South Shields.

Travelled to the Netherlands to purchase over £800's on a number of Laserdisc's

I used to travel an hours Journey each way, to purchase imported Laserdisc's and DVD's From ''THE DISC EMPORIUM'' based in Knebworth, and before that I drove to Whichford in Kent 2 1/2 hrs journey each way to purchase Laserdisc's and DVD's.

Petrol now is so expensive in the UK, that I now have to think before going anywhere, I walk to work each day Monday to Friday.
Average petrol prices for unleaded is £1,42 per litre and £1,45 for Diesel.

I would be willing to travel to collect from a seller.

Im from Rochester in Kent (UK) approx 30 miles south east of London.

I am more than happy to travel to collect LD's and even more so to collect LD players and equipment.

I will be doing a wish list soon of some discs im looking for to complete my collection... ha ha ! when will ones LD collection ever be complete ?

that and a list of stuff I want to swap or trade.

I may also have some stuff such as a few duplicates that I would like to let a newbie to our hoppy have to help start them off in the world of LD madness :0)

Any good tips on buying LDs in Germany? I live in Denmark, I do speak a little German, so if you know of sites/places besides eaby.de, I'd like to hear of them!

Brisbane, Australia. Never seen a laserdisc outside of eBay. Thant's the thing about living in a country where LaserDiscs where never offically released.

Hm, only few german places besides eBay where you can possibly find LDs... like the german LD-Forum http://www.razyboard.com/system/user_TimeBandit.html. Already found some nice stuff there, sometimes people even offer complete collections including US and japanese titles. And there's a guy in my area selling stuff on a private base, mostly european releases but his list is kinda huge. If you want to get in touch with him just let me know via PM. I also found some cool stuff at Marktplaats http://www.marktplaats.nl - it's a dutch site and I recently found some very nice LDs over there like "Matrix" or "Saving Private Ryan" - even found my LD-S9 on Marktplaats! Most of the sellers speak english so communication won't be a problem... but of course the whole site is written in dutch language so you may need something like Babelfish for translation. Or let me help out if needed as I do understand dutch language quite well...

Other than a few CDVs every single laserdisc I ever bought has had to be shipped to me from all over the world.
Same goes for all my players which to date have all come from mainland UK. I'm very nervous about shipping players but have no choice really.

There is probably more chance of finding a dodo than locating a laserdisc in Ireland!

I'm in London. No LD shops around here - you may come across the odd find in a charity shop, but that's rare. It's been fleabay for me for quite a while now...

Never had an damaged LD

United (so-called...) States, North Carolina at the moment. Not to far from firehorse_44 though we have never met.

Only one shop in the area that has LDs but not many and they are ALL common titles that everyone already has (I call them 'target practice LDs')...

Everything I want I have to get from eBay (read nightmare...) or from sellers here on this database. So far the database has been really helpful and informative ( Julien and contributors).

came from NYC and you could always get some good stuff, people liked to buy technology in NY.

I'm in Jacksonville, Fl. I find LD's at thrift stores from time to time. Picked up one at a booksale yesterday in Gainesville for .10 --- yes, that is a DIME. Excalibur. For a dime I'll buy any LD. Found a fellow collector here in town today on CL. He's going to get a few from me. Also, I will travel for collections!
