Heyas, even though this my 4th post, I'm new here and to the whole laserdisc thing. I have some inherit gene that makes me collect and use older technology. I'm a collector of video games (have about 3,600 or so), old computers (35-40 or so, non-PC machines, mostly 8/16 bit machines). Heck, my 2nd car is even an old car ('66 Mustang).
Anyways, I've always been interested in picking up a LD player and when I came across a Marantz player with 7 movies and the THX Demo for $50 on fleabay, I couldn't resist. One month later, I've already picked up another 7 discs and I don't see any sign of stopping. So anyways, you'll see me around here off and on and good to be here!

Thanks! I started off this month with 7... I'm about to hit 50 discs. These things are addicting! Really, what I've been doing is buying mostly Disney and such... not for me, but my 3 year old daughter loves hanging and watching 'those big movies'. Even though I could stream them over Netflix, or even get the DVD, it just doesn't seem as substantial as a LD. The LD makes you feel like you actually own something (I think that's already been said on the forums).

Most of the discs were near mint and do you realize 1500 movies will fit perfectly in the back of a full size dodge rams bed? Lol Haha. I wish. I saw one lot of 1000 discs for sale for $1500, but refused to make me a list. Then recently another lot of 800 discs for $700, also couldn't be bothered to make me a list. I understand it's a s****y deal to catalogue them, but both of these lots were up for sale for months, but both were too far away to justify going that far just to look at them.
