Welcome to the forum. I know there's a few others here who prefer tape based formats to discs so don't feel you have to keep things laserdisc based. Hope you enjoy the forum! |

nice to meet you, i only have 1 vhs tape. i never liked the rewinding and fastforwarding, it took too long when i was a kid and i wanted to get to it right away. but i liked everything else about VHS. that was our first home movie format. when we got an LD player it was great, with chapters and if the disc didn't have chaters you could skip to a time. anyway glad to see your post and look forward to seeing your youtube videos. |

As for me, I have two VHS tapes. Blood and Roses and the U.S. cut of Human Vapor. I donated our entire library except for those two. But I'm always open to watching more rarities so I keep the VCR around. What is your favorite VCR? I have a Quasar VHQ460 which I really like. It replaced a late model Omnivision that really started to suck quickly...model 4525 maybe? |

svr, I don't know if you're still checking in. I added two tapes, The Last Movie and uncut PAL of The Plague Dogs. Imo the latter was not hacked up too horribly for NTSC, but it does matter. The little things, like introducing scenes with a caption of the date, really add to any film and it's a shame to cut them. It does not look the same as the DVD...different print source? I have a Panny multisystem, but I'm wondering if any auto-voltage Super Drive model will play PAL by default, even if multi-system is not indicated. If so, I'd like to play around with the different 6-head iterations of the Omnivision models. If not, I won't waste my time or money. |
