Hi all.

I've been a reasonably long-term collector since around the late 90s. Always knew of the format but didn't really start actively purchasing titles until places like Tower, Suncoast, and Camelot Music had begun to heavily discount movies with DVD on the horizon. Rarely buy new titles since I'm most focused on blu ray, but I still feel a certain nostalgia for the format and it's my "first love" so to speak since VHS was always a crap a/v medium. Still watch LDs occasionally on an old Infocus 4805 (480p) projector, with the Pioneer CLD-97 and CLD-1010 players.

same with my father and i, when he bought our first player around 89 we went around to tower
to get all the punchouts, there were some other stores in the NYC area that had cheaper discs

i remember when i saw my first LD at suncost, it was amazing, and i thought LD was going to be around forever.
guess 20+ years was forever for technology.

glad to hear from you!
