Hi everyone. About time lddb.com got a forum! Finally a real ld forum! My name is Johan and I am living in Gothenburg, Sweden. Sorry if my English is bad sometimes.

First ld experience:
I bought my first ld-player when I was around 18 year (10 years ago). Don’t remember the model but it was a pioneer. I got a couple of movies with it, one being army of darkness. I had to buy a very expensive transformator for it to work only to find out that my 28" tv didn’t support ntsc so after watching army of darkness in B/W I got tired and never used it again =)

How I started collecting:
Then the years went by and my vhs collection for my whole life went to the trash can. I didnt miss my movie collection until recent years when I started to travel to Japan a lot and saw all my favorite movies on the cool 12" sleeves (just as vinyl). But didn’t have any player left so I didn’t buy anything until 2 years ago when I got a friend of mine to buy a pioneer H7G player for me. And since then I've pretty much bought everything I remember watching as child and younger teen, ending up with a little over 500 movies so far. Now I almost have everything I wanted so now its mainly an sickness to buy stuff that I don’t have or have seen. My collection is mainly horror, scifi fantasy and trash movies.

my setup:
LD-Player: Pioneer CLD-R7G
RD Demulator (ac-3): YAMAHA APD-1
Receiver: H/K 260 (Used to have a pioneer VSA-E08 because it had ac-3 support and of course a dedicated LD input, and said ld on the front panel. But I got so sick of not having hdmi that I gave that one up )

But Doctor.....Is there no cure !?!
Sorry...He seems to have LaserDisc Fever.....LOL
