I have always been interested in how to get the theater into my home.

I read Popular Science over and over when they ran a story on the first front screen projection TV by Avant back in the late 70s.

Sadly I had to wait almost 25 years before I joined large screen life...(25 inch Zenith TV was my main stay all that time) when I Sony 43 inch (4X5) three tube projector TV.

Its death for the third time moved me into front projection with a In Focus X1 which was a major learning curve.

I then moved to a pair of DLP projectors, a HP Vp6320 which lasted for 5248 hours and even thou it was getting dim and leaning towards green still works, it just need a new bulb...

And I got a 53 late model Mitsubishi DLP rear projector TV with it for day time viewing. Both DLPs are now 7 year old.

I just jumped in the 3D movie thing with a Epson 3020 projector and a Sony 560 Player...

And last I am building my own Computer DVR system to get off cable.

And I am unloading VCRs, and my old Pioneer D704 Laser Disk player and small collection of disks, which brought me to this site with a minor problem, my Pioneer D704 Hangs during start up.

Also getting rid or old turntables and records...

The hanging on the d704 will come from to less use of the machine and will be good again with a good clean/grease of the gears etc etc

funny how CRT Projectors are left on the side of the road now... wonder how much longer DLP will last?
