I've been lurking since November-ish, reading up on player and disc reviews and such, which have been really helpful and good nerdy fun. I just got back into LD's again a few years back and through the wonderment of Facebook, a friend sent me his collection of 120ish discs.

Last month I nabbed an iScan HD+ which I *love*. This week I got a CLD-D703 for $36 on eBay, which will be sent directly to Duncan to fix the tray-not-opening issue and get the AC3 mod done. Right now I have a DVL-700 that Duncan turned into a DL-90, an inoperable CLD-2080 and a Proscan that is in the bedroom, soon to be replaced with the 700/90.

Aaaaand... uh... yeah, that's pretty much it. 8-)

Thanks, Rein-o! Last night I watched the first half of the 1963 "Cleopatra"- rot free!

A few weeks ago I connected the 700/90 to the HD+ with s-vid, just as an experiment. The result? The image was sharper (as expected) but the noise level actually went *down*, which I wasn't expecting. With this connection, I can do the zoom in and watch a widescreen film on the widescreen setting, with no noise. Woot.
