Post subject:  Hey, Guys!
What's up? I just started collecting Laserdiscs not too long ago. I'm 14 years old, and I got a Laserdisc player (Pionner CLD-V2600) for Christmas of 2012. I hope to eventually get some of my favorite anime's on Laserdisc. :)

Also, do any of you know how well Discovision discs play in the Pionner CLD-V2600? Thanks.

the player will play discovision fine, for me some discs take a little longer to load, seems like the laser
is trying to track but has a hard time.

what discovision titles are you looking to get? they didn't release any anime.
you will have a great time collecting anime.

I kind of want The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings because it seems to use a good quality transfer, and it's the cheapest I could find. I really want Castle of Cagliostro (Japanese LD) and Urusei Yatsura (Animeigo Box Set) on Laserdisc, because I love both of them very much. Also, Thanks for asking! :)

UPDATE: I have recently picked up Cagliostro no Shirou (TLL-2268), and Urusei Yatsura (Movie 5): The Final Chapter (AD903-008). I am still looking for the Animeigo box set.

Two very elusive discs :) I spent several years waiting for Cagliostro (TLL-2473)to pop up on ebay.I was a little disappointed with the translation, (Manga translation is much better) but its still a great LD. Also pretty cool that it comes with a hard copy of the script.

I recommend burying $200 in the back yard. If either set shows up on ebay, you won't have to suffer the agony of missing out.

Do you know if that LD of Castle Of Cagliostro has the same dub as the one on the Special Edition DVD? Also, I found the Japanese 1985 LD on Ebay for 32 dollars, whenever I get some money, I'll get it for sure.

No, the Special Edition DVD is the better translation (IMHO). The translation and dubbing on TLL-2473 was made by Streamline Pictures (RIP). The "Thief in the Night" speech in the tower is one of my favorite scenes in the Special Edition, but the Streamline translation of that scene was pretty bland and flat. As far as I know, that translation is only available on VHS and TLL-2473.

If you're looking at the TLL-2268 on eBay, someone has it for sale in an LDDB shop for $10 less. And if you're in the states, shipping will probably be cheaper too. (Cagliostro LD for sale on LDDB) I haven't watched that release since it doesn't have English, but it should be pretty good quality.

hi!! i'm an Anime LD buff myself, about half my own 100-odd disc collection so far are Anime-related,
