Well, newbie to this forum, not to LDs. Hi to all! I started with the original Philips/Magnavox thingy that played PAL only, now have NTSC only collection, based around an X0 and an S9 as a backup. I also have an X9 currently being reassembled. Surround sound has never been much of a thrill for me - I just play into a pair of Klipsch RF-7s through a Sugden (British) amp. It does most of the job! Phil |

Phil So you started with the Philips VP-600 or remote controlled VP-700, which were both physical clones of the original Magnavox Magnavision 8000 player that launched LaserDisc in the US in 1978? Of course, Philips had worked out most of the bugs by the UK launch and reengineered the circuitry so the player was much more reliable. Welcome to the forums! |
