Hello everyone,

Like many of the recent newcomers, I started collecting LD's in the late 1990's. While dvd's started gaining speed, I felt it was a good time to purchase an LD player.

My first player was a Pioneer CLD 79. I now have three 79's a CLD 95, two CLD 97's a McIntosh MLD 7020 and a Denon 3200.
My favorite is the 7020.

Over the years I have aquired over 1600 LD's and I continue to collect titles. Yesterday I received a box set of Tom and Jerry cartoons. Always room for more titles.

Like so many of us, I have moved up to DVD and Blu-ray. I consider myself as an archivest intent on preserving film on optical disc.
I got hooked on the idea of having a theatre in the home when I was as a child when my Dad made a movie projector out of a cardboard box.

Anyway, there I am for now. Glad to be aboard and happy to hear from all anytime.

Thanks johan184,

It has been interesting reading many of the posts on the forum. While I have been collecting for quite some time, I see a great volume of LD knowledge and wisdom among the members. I stand to learn a great deal from all.

As for my LD players, yes it's quite a collection. My wife seems a bit perplexed when a new player arrives but so far I have had nothing but encouragement from her. I wonder how supportive she would be if I collected battleships. Only one way to find out, right?

Just added six more titles to my LD collection. Always look forward to seeing oversized packages waiting for me on the doorstep.
