I posted in the Welcome thread already but I figured I'd get more personal here. My name is Shawn and I LOVE Laserdiscs. I currently have a Pioneer Elite DVL-90 in working order. I am watching a Panasonic LX-900 and a Pioneer CLD-D704 for archiving my LD's. From the little I do know about machines, the LX-900 and the D704 are fairly good choices. I am also a fan of DTS cinema audio. I've accumulated a small collection of film discs and have a small "looking for" list to boot. I also own a Panasonic AG-1980 S-VHS machine which is nice for transferring old VHS tapes if needed. At the end of the day, I don't have a huge budget for collecting so I try, like most do, to watch for those deals when they happen. My Pioneer Elite is a nice machine for watching movies but not so well for archiving. The picture is soft and lacks the detail I'd like. I'm excited to be here. I had a previous account but was away so long that it probably got pruned as I didn't really post. I have started adding stuff to my collection list so folks can see what I'm in to. Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien and Sci-Fi/Horror mostly. I have a few animated LD's like Fantasia, Toy Story, Nightmare Before X-mas, to name a few. My 8 year old daughter has grown a small interest in LD movies. She will occasionally ask me to put in The Adams Family or Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight. Anyways ..... I'm glad to be a part of this site and look forward to learning more as I go.

Good day to you jetrellfo69 I have just read your returned entry post and I enjoyed the read, as it helps in getting to know others, and that's a healthy thing. I especially liked the part: That it probably got pruned Welcome aboard and thank you for sharing. No doubt we will correspond at some stage. Kind Regards to you

Hi Shawn,
Former Wisconsinite here. I had to move to Indiana for work. Bummer! But good to have a job I enjoy...
Anyway, I travel back to southern WI to visit friends and family. If you would like some movies on the cheap, I have a few for sale. This way you could save the shipping costs. LDDB will still get their $$
Just throwing it out there. Enjoy the movies with your kids. My 3 year old watches Toy story, little mermaid and rocky and Bullwinkle. Snow white, and a few other Disney movies so far, according to her, are for "big kids"(too scary)!
Eric
