Post subject:  I'm 16 and have interest in laserdisc
Hello everybody, I'm Caleb and I'm 16 years old. I'm currently living in the United States and have an interest in laserdisc. I have been interest in laserdisc for almost a year now. So far I have 12 laserdisc in my collection. I have a Laserdisc player that is sadly not reading any disc. I need a working laserdisc player in order to play my laserdisc collection. Is there any way I can get my player fix to play movies? If so, please tell me how to fix it. I may have to get another laserdisc player that works. Anyways I hope you all have a nice day. :D

player can be fixed, if its something easy i'm sure you can do it yourself, if not you must pay someone to fix.
i don't personally know much about fixing BUT.

1 what is the model player you have.

2 what are the issues, you didn't really say, is there any error, will the tray open, you must give us all info.

3 can you pay for repairs. you do have to send the player which can cost about 25-35 and then pay for shipping back, again 25-35
so that total just for shipping will be around 50-70 just for shipping.

1.) Well my player is a Pioneer CLD-990 model

2.) The problem is it just won't read the disc. It does power on. The tray does open. I put in a disc, it wouldn't play. I also tried it with cd's and it still wouldn't work. Well it could be the laser it self. It can go out after being overused. It could also be the components that are out.

Now I also want to mention that when I first open the tray, there was a laserdisc inside of it. The movie wasn't in it's right position. I mean like it's not on the tray. So I think that the movie mess the player up. Also the movie doesn't have a cover for it.

3.) So I could possibly fix it or give it to a repair man. Well thanks for the information about the shipping.

So I hope I can get it fix, so wish me luck. ;)
