I am just getting into ld even though I bought a new Pioneer CLD-990 when I was in University. I couldn't afford the ld's then so I used it primarily as a CD player and just bought one disc then to try it out (2001: A Space Odyssey). That old ld player still works like new but I have upgraded since then. 30 years later and I am getting into ld again having purchased a Pioneer CLD-D704 last year and a Pioneer ld-s2 this year (one for each HT setup). I only have about 50 movies so far so I am on the hunt for more! It is a lot of fun searching for these discs and the sound from them is much better than on DVD. |

Welcome! My first player was a CLD-990 too, originally bought by someone in Sweden during the early 90s and sold to me in May of 2010. It was a nice introduction to cool format. The LD-S2 seems like a great player. |
