Post subject:  Greetings!

Hello! Allow me to introduce myself!
I first made an LDDb account a while ago, mostly to make a list of my collection as well as browse what is out there but this is my first post on the forum. I first got into laserdiscs in early 2011. I was in a used book store that had a bin of them for $1/each and I saw a few titles that looked interesting (I believe it was a Criterion Collection version of The Killer and I think either Spectreman or The Street Fighter), so I picked them up even though I didn't have a player. They sat around for about a week before I ordered a Pioneer CLD-V2600 player off of eBay. It didn't make sense to have a player with only two movies, so I went back to that used book store and bought a bunch of random discs that looked potentially interesting. AFTER THIS, NOTHING COULD STOP MY DESCENT INTO LASER-MADNESS!

My favorite aspect of LD collecting is all of the imported anime available. I've never been a fan of watching things on my computer and I love having a physical collection. I love MINING THE DEPTHS for obscure shows that have never gotten American releases. I've managed to luck out a few times and am pretty proud of my collection.
Feel free to browse it here.

I'm hoping to photograph the covers of titles that aren't yet in the database and start contributing other information as well.

I'm not sure what else to say. I'm 27 years old, so my only experience with laserdiscs while they were current-technology was having them used in middle school once or twice. And I'm a librarian, so I have a tendency to want to preserve forgotten but important media from the past.

So yeah! I'm glad to start participating in the community!

That last reason is possibly the best for laserdiscs; welcome!
