I would like to start off by saying Thank you to the admin and all the great forum members here. LDDB has been a wealth of knowledge so far.

Currently just starting out and beginning to collect LD's. I got very lucky and picked up a proscan PSLD46 for free, and a older Denon AVR. I'm hopping some one can give me a little insight into the proscan LD player. I've had no luck finding much information on it, from what little I did find, it was a re-badge of a low-mid level RCA that was re-badge pioneer.

Collecting LD's is a fun hobby the wife and I have picked up. Its about hunting down classic 80 and 90's films that we saw as kids. I know we could pick up DVD's or BD of the films, but there is something more rewarding from finding a classic film and watching. We have been lucky so far, there are local stores that still carry a selection of LD's and most are priced at a dollar. One example of this is we picked up Pulp fiction in mint condition for a dollar.

The only future plans are to pick up a Pioneer Elite model, and a AC3 decoder. The proscan has been good to us, but its butt ugly. The elite players have a sexyness to them that only high end products of the 80's can fill. I may also have the opportunity to get a Sony TA-E9000ES for free to handle AC3 decoding but not sure at this point if replacing the Denon receiver with a pre-amp and amp are worth it.

Welcome to the forum :)

Your player looks like a CLD-D504 rebadge, possibly a 503 (it has two s-videos on the back) but the front's a bit simpler than that one.

Thank you for the tip, they both look very similar. The layout on the back looks identical. My proscan may not be as low end as I thought.

yeah, if its a 503 then you should be very happy with it, you can buy better but I use a 503 as a backup player, looked nice when I hooked it
up to my projector and 80" screen.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

After some further reading, I think its a re-badge of a pioneer 504. Thank you for the tips, and pointing me towards the 503 and 504.
