Hey Guys, New to the board here...... Found the board searching from some specs on the Star Wars Definitive Edition US box release. I was on a crusade to find the best version of the original trilogy (non-special edition), and I think i might get this set. I read some reviews about how it's slightly better than the hard-to-find DVD releases of it. Plus i just like the presentation of the box/books. So in search of this, I ended up grabbing a refurbed Pioneer CLD-S270 off of ebay. I'm also on the hunt to collect some of my favorite Sci-Fi, Horror, and adult LDs, especially the hard to find, not on DVD or BD. I was big into collecting Bluray Steelbook, but that market is getting flooded really quickly, so I'm starting to slow down on that quite a bit. |

Assuming you're talking about the 2008 DVD release with the "original versions" included, you definitely made the right choice getting the LD's. I have that DVD set and they're just fullscreen scans of the LaserDisc version. EDIT: Holy wow, I had no idea that DVD set was so desired, I paid like $30 in the store new... |

Yeah, I had hat set too and remembered it wasn't that great of a presentation. Sort of an afterthought on that set, so I ended up selling it when I found out what it was worth. Ended up getting like $125 for it or something. But I was lucky enough to win an auction for the LD set last night for only $36. But I'm skeptical of actually getting it since the seller has a feedback of 4 and that I won it for such a low cost. I'm thinking he might back out. |

I did find a vendor at this weekends Chiller Theatre show in NJ, but his prices were ridiculous from what I could remember. Of course, that was before I found this site, so I really didn't know what going rate for some titles were. |

Usually for very cheap. Happy hunting. |
