Hey all, I joined the LaserDisc Database recently and this is my first post. I discovered LaserDisc in about 2008 or so while browsing YouTube. My fascination continued when James Rolfe covered the format several years ago. After deliberation and searching, I finally got a player last week. My player is only a CLD-S201, but it works great and I just ordered a remote for it. And of course, what is a LaserDisc player without movies? I purchased The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (the first release) and Jurassic Park (CAV Letterbox Edition). I had never seen Jurassic Park, and when I watched it yesterday on my player it looked great. I hope to get more LaserDiscs soon and I look forward to using this forum. Cheers everyone. |

Say what? James Rolfe reviewed the LD format? Is this video available on his YouTube channel, or is it exclusive to his website? I am a huge James Rolfe fan, but I have missed this video. I still need to pick up a copy of his movie, but that is off topic... Hello, and welcome to LDDb. I hope you enjoy yourself here at LDDb, and find what you are looking for. -Robert |

Just watched this & what a great 5 minute sum-up of the LD format. Had to laugh at the start where he shows the LD player with the CD tray out then ejects the LD tray & as the empty tray slides out says "This is a laserdisc..... YEAH!!!" picks up a disc & exclaims as he is placing the disc on the tray "THIS IS A F***ING LASERDISC..... THAT IS BADASS..... BADASS WOULDN'T YOU AGREE..... YEAHH!!! then his voice drops & he gives a great little run through that really is worth 5 minutes of your time. Thanks again & cheers for now. |

Yes, thank you for the link. I have been subscribed to his channel for years, and I do not know how I have missed this video. I am going to watch this video as soon as my wife, and I finish watching our movie selections for the night. Again, thank you... -Robert |
