Hi guys, just recently got into LDs this year. I have been into collecting records since 1997 and had no plan on expanding into Laserdiscs, but I saw a good deal at a thrift store near me on the Pioneer, so here I am. This site and forum are a really great resource, by the way. Current setup - LD: Pioneer CLD-D406 AC-3 Decoder: Marantz DP870 Amp: Yamaha HTR5660 Speakers (all Klipsch): Synergy B-20 Fronts, Quintet II Center & Surround, Sub-10 TV: Panasonic TC-P42G25 Turntable: Pioneer PL-200 going through ART USB Phono Plus (pre-amp) I also got a Denon LA-3500 for dirt cheap, but I haven't been using it because it has a hard time tracking at the beginning and end of discs. |

Welcome! That sounds like a great thrift store find. Took me ages to find an AC3 RF Demodulator. |

Actually, I got the demodulator separately on Craigslist. It came with a Marantz AV600 pre-amp that I'd like to use if I find a good deal on a 5 channel power amp. Getting into LDs was the impetus for me to start using a 5.1 setup, before that I was using a Harman Kardon hk395i stereo amp. |
