Hey, brand new enthusiast. My interest in laserdisc stemmed from my rediscovery of the fun of watching VHS on my old Sony Trinitron flatscreen CRT, which then stemmed to a curiosity to at least once in my life play a real-life laserdisc. They just seemed so novel. And then it happened: I found a cheap player, from a nice Singaporean man living in Sydney Australia who had owned this Karaoke model Sony LD playe anda bunch of Karoake discs and these movies: Fair Game, Congo, Assassins and the rot-prone First Knight.

My first discs I went out and got were 2001 and a whole bunch of others including Blade Runner, Big Lebowski, Terminator and a completely rotten copy of The Magnificent Ambersons. At least I know what the worst kind of rot looks like now...

I certainly hope The Big Lebowski was more affordable in Australia than it is in the US!
