Yeah, I know it says I joined a few years ago, but never was able to post due to real life happening. Said moment of crisis has passed, the account its now reactivated and here I am!

I am a HUGE Videophile. I have started with the collection tool on here...almost done listing everything I have. I thought I had more but I guess it just looks like more, eh? LOL. I ADORE horror movies, so that's the main majority of my collection, and even though I didn't really get into LD until after DVD had happened, I always wanted to, just could never afford it. I have always adored the format. I got movies in Laserdisc, VHS, HD-DVD, Blu-Ray and DVD format. Never had a Beta or a CED though. Generally speaking, if I can have it on Laserdisc instead of any other format, I will snag it if I can afford it...LOL. Great stuff, just thought I'd say Hello, and for those of you that may know me from other forums or sites dealing with other subjects, hello. Hope to see you around. For everyone else, I hope to have some fun in here. I should have been here many, many years ago.

Hi t2kfreeker,

Yes, you really should have been here a long time ago, but better late than never! We're so glad to finally have you here on board with us. Well, unlike our friend benmbe, horror IS my bag! I'm happy to find another fellow horror fan has joined the fold! Horror is the number one category in my collection, although I'm very strongly into sci-fi, action, thrillers, and even documentaries. I have quite an assortment of all of these genres, and I add more all the time as they become available. In fact, I just had the good fortune of adding the number one title on my wishlist to my collection recently, and it, of course, was a horror film. The title is "Green Inferno", sometimes a/k/a "Cannibal Holocaust II". It is a Hong Kong only release, bearing the reference number T1008. Believe it or not, I had been chasing this disc for 8 years, and was finally able to cross it off my list after all that time! :D I should clarify that it was not on my "formal" wishlist here, due to the fact that it was a title not listed in the database. However, thanks to our wonderful administrator, Julien, the title was recently added to the site, and is now part of the official record of the history of the laserdisc format. I hope in the near future to provide a cover photo of this rare title, so that everyone will be able to see what it looks like. Yes, you are certain to have some fun here! It is THE destination site for serious laserdisc collectors worldwide. You'll find that this place is full of useful information and many friendly, like-minded collectors who will be happy to share their knowledge with you. I'm sure that you will find many horror titles listed here which you never knew were released on laserdisc! It's truly a fascinating hobby indeed. Enjoy yourself! Welcome to LDDb and the Forum!

Hi, was wondering if any of you horror disc collectors know anything about Peter Jacksons Epic Dead Alive. I know that at least on DVd it comes in an edited and uncensored versions. But what about the laserdisc version? I see it on ebay and want to get it but only if it is the uncensored vision. Any clues? Just thought Id ask, maybe I should post it on a new thread.

As released in the US as DEAD-ALIVE on VDCVM5631 it runs to 97 minutes so it is "cut" or "censored".

Released as BRAINDEAD it was issued a few times & it was "uncut" on 1964-2 which was an ASTRO release for the German market & is a PAL disc. Also issued by ASTRO on NF 23202-LD with a German dialogue track, also PAL.

A Japanese release on PILF-1822 is also apparently "uncut" & a Hong Kong issue on TL-1100 may be but perhaps worth checking more fully as there are various cuts around - they are both NTSC discs.

Just search DEAD ALIVE & also BRAINDEAD here for the discs & there are more details which may help a bit more.
