Hi, I'm new to the web site with forum. I last sold the laserdisc collection in 2004, sadly.

I got started with laserdisc as a hobby in 1998 when I discovered Pioneer LaserActive with Sega module, remote control, manual and controller in a pawn shop.

Right after I joined LDDb, I helpfully reported several editions of the movies that had laser rot, on LDDb, according to my recollection. "Willow" 1995 Sony DADC laserdisc is the worst I ever owned; I regretted wasting money on it.

I may have the typewritten list of the laserdisc video collection somewhere. I made the list just before I sold everything on eBay, sometimes at a loss with me eating some cost in expensive shipping costs. If I found it, I would scan the old list sheet for their viewing.

I had the extensive laserdisc collection that probably numbered a hundred, including rare laserdiscs like The Best of Roger Rabbit and CAV edition of Who Framed Roger Rabbit (naughty bits), South Park the movie, Killer Klowns from Outer Space and American History X, Japanese imports like Pulp Fiction, Fight Club and The Sixth Sense, and many box sets including Star Wars Trilogy The Definitive Collection, Alien and Aliens Special Edition, The Abyss Special Edition, Terminator 2 Special Edition (Gold logo), and various Disney animation movies like Pinocchio and the hard to find Beauty & the Beast workprint edition. I remember these titles according to my memory.

I owned Titanic (LBX/AC-3) and The Thin Red Line, as well. These are probably the best pressed laserdiscs without laser rot. The Thin Red Line would be a superlative reference to demonstrate top of the line laserdisc quality in sound and video quality.

I also remember the exact state of the art home theater set-up I bought 16 years ago. Put together, it was an amazing experience. I still miss it, but I'm biased by nostalgia.

Thank you for reading.

Good evening Cyberdogg,

hey it's good to have you back with us here,

Thank you for sharing a snippet of your experience/s of this well loved format of unique tangibility............ it just doesn't leave you does it?

I could never part with my collection........... but can truly appreciated the many and varied unexpected reasons why anyone would let go, and then after a time realize the fond memories of what once was......

Your back ......... and sharing your thoughts here and that's what counts.

Sincerest Regards
