Hi all. Just joined in Los Angeles after impulsively offering to help my meighbor dispose of a very large ld collection from her suddenly deceased husband. Have no idea how to proceed with at least one thousand discs. Anyone local who can help and probably benefit, message me. I just want to see them get to people who will enjoy them. He has 3 or 4 players also... Box sets, appx. 20 criterion disks... Etc. thanks |

Good morning Patrickism, I hope you are able to get a fair price for that collectors Laserdisc's, its not that easy to part with the whole collection to one buyer, however there are those rare enthusiasts that may....... If the above proves unfruitful then hopefully selling these to those who would like specific titles maybe a healthy alternative. I hope all goes well Sincerest Regards |

If you could quickly note the Maker/Model Name (and the associated remote control) of the few players then take quick pictures of a sampling of discs, it would help everyone get an idea of that is in this collection. If front covers take too much time, taking a clear pic of the spines (where the ref numbers and titles are) can be very helpful. Julien |

Cant tell if this is a duplicatenresponse... My neighbor and I really just want to get this collection to people who will appreciate it as much as her husband did. Not expecting a cash winfall... Just dont want to have to bin them because the house needs a fast-track to sell. She is returning to Brazil soon. Someone can benefit here and we will donate entire collection. If not you, maybe you can point me in a direction. New to LDs, getting no money from this and just trying to help. Schpank you |

Your neighbour who has suffered such a great loss will have so much to contend with just now, for her to care for her late husbands clearly cherished collection is a very thoughtfully & considerate thing to contemplate at this time. I do hope that someone around you can perhaps take them of the ladies hands & she can take some comfort (even if only a little at such a difficult time for her) in seeing them being passed on to someone who will care for them. Your neighbour I am sure will appreciate your kindness & understanding at this time - sincere regards to you both. |

Got some very kind and helpful guidance re this LD collection. Thank you all. You should be proud of your online community.... And then this morning my niece told me one of her oldest friends collects LDs. I know the kid but never knew that! I said he could have them all for free but he is insisting on giving some cash to my neighbor. People are basically good, i still believe. |
