i always did have a soft spot for this model. when the time came for me to pursue ownership of my "Dream" LDP,
it came down to either an LD-S1 or CLD-3030.
3030 ultimately won out; overall design and cosmetic styling was second to none, (IMO)
and mean average price and availability was most attractive, since spare parts were a major factor of personal consideration,
and since the 3030 is fully compatible with major sub-assemblies from it's step-down CLD-1030 model,
vital components such as the disc transport are commonly available as far as vintage LDP components go.
even so, the almighty LD-S1 makes for a VERY compelling case, so far as vintage LDPs go at the very least;
