I won't ramble on, just a short intro. I'm a middle age guy living in Australia. Never had a laserdisc player before. It's unlikely I'll attempt to build a massive LD collection. At the moment I'm just getting some Star Wars releases. That's about it

Well I'm only going for Japanese Star Wars releases at the moment, just movies not the special discs. So not a massive target. Got a few on the way right now but only 2 are known IDs (PILF-2076 & PILF-2830). Another 3 releases (1 of each original trilogy movie) too but those are unknown IDs at the moment, probably P&S versions as they're cheap. I don't care though I'm happy to have some different versions I wouldn't mind getting some other Japanese discs in the future...maybe Alien, Star Trek II, Indiana Jones trilogy and some others but I'm not going nuts right now.

Check him out, you may feel like you are overpaying but if you can pickup locally and see condition it may be worth the risk. Yeah he's in Adelaide, I'm in Canberra. I've considered getting a rental car and doing a road trip. If I could physically go through the discs I'd buy heaps. He's kinda lazy at listing them, I can see there are tons of unlisted titles in the pictures of his storage room. You kind of have to ask what he has, there's a good chance he has it, but then his prices...$10 a piece for his V Gundam discs but for the whole collection he wants (14 discs) 14 x $10, $140, then shipping. Not worth it. I could probably get a set from Japan shipped for half that and I could see pictures. Where are you Deadlegion?

Gundam is almost all on BD now and it looks great. I don't have a BD player and I want it to look like it does on LD. The way it was originally seen by cashed up fans at the time. LD will always be the most pure form of the show.

Just doing a trial run to see how it turns out. The main thing, for me anyway, about his stuff is that he has a flat shipping rate for 1-50 titles. He also has a replacement policy for discs that are cracked during transit, he uses a courier...and the big draw for me when I made some purchases the other day was that he had 20% off for 5 or more purchases (that finished Friday I think). I have an uncle living in Japan but I rarely bother him about buying stuff for me, lots of areas our interests are common but in this instance (video games are another) he has no interest. It'd be doable but I don't feel the need to put him through that That guy in SA also has some VHD stuff too btw, not much, but it's pretty rare to see a domestic seller with those.

That's why I can't even be bothered to collect Gundam on BD. Only only on export versions, as far as I know, and only Zeta. I highly recommend BR of shows like 0080 and 0083 or even ZZ. It’s quite stunning what you can see now.
