Name is Joey Jarvis. I live in Princeton, WV. Radio DJ/Programmer by trade...Avid movie freak by choice! I used to own a public school donated Pioneer LD player. It was decent to get me started. Had a good collection of movies. Moving and birth of kids made me donate the collection and player to another fan. Been over a decade. Wanting to get back in to collection the silver movie discs. I need a player to get started. Does anyone have one for sale? Thanks for the add. And look forward to talking to y'all!

Welcome!

If it were me, I'd try to buy locally so you don't have to worry about something getting damaged in shipping. I see two reasonably priced players near Roanoke on Craigslist (search "laserdisk") if you are up for the drive. If not, there are a few members here that are known for selling players.

I don't have a player for sale but you should either buy locally or from someone who knows what they have and can pack it right.
Otherwise its a risk as in anything, you can still luck out and get one off of ebay.

Welcome and I also have been collecting laserdiscs again after a pause!

Have actually gotten a couple decent/functional players off ebay, but you do have to pick the right seller.

The FB group Laserdiscs Forever also seems full of reputable sellers.

And many speculators, I can't tell you how many who would post and ask while they were in some record store asking if such and such
was worth anything to try and make a quick buck.

How does our admin post it here: Caveat emptor, Caveat venditor.

But there were also good people when I was on it, just too much of an amount of sellers who just picked up free or .50 cent discs
asking what was worth money.

Can figure the same with players too.
