Hello. My name is Ken and I’m a former laser disc addict.

I sold the bulk of my library after the DVD format was released; when the gettin’ was good! I kept some titles for nostalgia purposes: Star Wars box set with the theatrical version, Alien & Aliens, Amadeus box set and others & some anime and j-pop concerts/videos. My holy grail is Dream Window: Reflection on the Japanese Garden. Absolutely love this disc and I even managed to find a second copy several years ago. It’s a shame they never released this title on Bluray.

My first LD player was a Sony MDP-333. After that one died I bought a Sony MDP-455. I also had a Pioneer Elite player for a short while. Forgot the model but it was from the late 80’s early 90's. Old school and built like a tank. Don’t rightfully know why I dumped it?

My current LD player is a Pioneer DVL-909. Doesn’t get much use but I keep it around for when I pick up something that is not available on DVD.

The last LD I bought was Gold Diggers: the Secret of Bear Mountain. Amazon sells a DVD-R version but I got the laserdisc for about $5 shipped off of ebay which beat Amazon by $15!
