That's great you are into Laserdiscs and all things audiofile. Its nice to see that music other than streaming to your Iphone is still important and cherished! Stereo systems rule! Crank it!

Hi everyone! Been a while since I used a forum like this... I'm a fresh LaserDiscer, 23, from New York. Was first introduced to them in 9th grade or so, when my biology teacher caught wind I was into vinyl records, and thought I would enjoy one of those, but shiny...Flash forward many years later, and I just purchased my first player (Pioneer CLD-V2600), and a nice handful of titles to go along with it. Now, I suppose, my pocket's going to start hurting more and more..just so much content! Seems like LaserDisc's got great people following the format still - I'm already inspired to get a proper home theater going at some point (I've got a great stereo system - but no home theater)! Welcome! LD can be a lot of fun, but unlike vinyl it's an (unfortunately) dead format so those players that work are drying up and/or we all need to become and help each other as repair gurus! Hope you have some enjoyment of your new acquisitions, and of LD into the future; or even if not that you make sure these go onto a good home! |
