Search for them at lddb.com and see what they sell for?

Where are you located? How many discs?

Lots of them have dropped in value and very very few have come up in any value due to people wanting to be a completest
by owning the film on as many formats as possible.

Yes but it was too large and my wife was the one who stepped in to stop me.
So now we have a sink, drywall and some counters in the living room rather than 600+ LDs........

I would have claimed it if it wasn't over a thousand miles away but still, it's a good point.

The majority of LDs are low value. I've been trying to sell/trade some that have perceived value for over a year now with no success. I think later today I will finally add everything to my collection here and go from there.

I think that's one factor that tends to be overlooked, not only just wrt lasers. "Perceived value" can be quite deceiving.

So what would we say would be a more "safer" bet with regard to those titles that do hold decent value? Late releases, DTS titles ?

Finding someone who wants it.

Number the quantity. Anything over 25 divide into smaller lots. Group by general popularity (not, say, Xtro with Die Hard). List on eBay.
EBay has the 'recently sold' function for searching and is home to thousands of collectors who don't already own every common LD like most LDDB members do.
