I'm surprised it's taken me this long to get on this forum.

I'm in west county of St. Louis, MO and 35 years old. I own a lowly, but tank-like LD-V2200 that I bought at least 15 years ago and have 40+ discs.

I originally got into LaserDisc because there were a number of rare concert films I wanted that had not (at the time) been re-released on a newer format like DVD. Plus I was always fascinated by the format anyway, and was never able to convince my parents to buy into it when I was a kid. Those suckers were expensive! :D

Welcome to the forum. Even though it is low-end, I really like the LD-V2200.

Thanks. I like it too, it just keeps working. It'll probably outlast me.

Nice to see another programmer here!

Absolutely. Every now and then I'll watch a film on it but I primarily use it as my disc checker. It is a keeper for sure.

Thank you!

The first LD I owned was Genesis In Concert 1976 which is the reason I got into LD in the first place, it wasn't available in any other release at the time, and it's a fairly rare disc. Also my favorite because I like the band a lot, and it remains the most rare disc I own.

Probably a third of my collection is various music discs.

The last one I picked up was Event Horizon.

By "everything" LD, do you mean my personal holy grail? I'd love a copy of The Matrix. 8-)

But not for the prices they're going for!
