Hello, my name is Andrea and I'm a 41 year old guy from Italy. I'm a laserdisc collector from 1995, when here in Italy the "laserdisc" was a mysterious word that few person have heard before; only a handful people had the "courage" to buy a laserdisc player and fewer even have an idea to start a proper laserdisc collection... well, I was one of that! I definitely fell in love with the laserdisc standard when I read on a magazine an article about the mythic Star Wars Trilogy Definitive Collection... nine discs, full of supplemental material, a book, a sturdy black box to contain them all... I dreamt about it for years; finally I managed to obtain the DC (not only one, but three!) and many others... actually, I reached quota 3200 laserdiscs and more than 15 laserdisc players, plus some AC3 demodulators, CC decoders etc... Don't know if anyone here remember me, but I posted sometimes in several forum, talking about the idea of writing a book about laserdisc... crazy project, isn't it? Is someone still interested in it nowadays?!? I'd like to thank Julien for his excellent job - where do you find the time to do it? I'm sure you have NOT children AND cats... Then I want to say "hello!" to Christopher, Joshua, Kurtis, Ty, Douglas, Iain, Kevin, Nicholas, Rachel... and to everyone in this forum - good to say so many laserdisc lovers! Andrea |

Good evening from the UK laserdisc.ws, Glad to have you on this forum Friend and I enjoyed reading about your experiences. I can relate to your collecting the Star Wars Definitive box set, as I currently have two of these, with the Japanese version on it's way in the next few months. we may have corresponded at some stage in the past. . . . . Not sure thou. I am still paying those crazy prices for the titles that I want in my collection. I used to post on the AV Forums, Home theatre forums ect. I have many good memories from when I started out in April 1998. I shall hopefully correspond with yourself at some stage. Best of health to you. Regards |

Thanks to you all. Benmbe, yes we mailed some time ago, but unfortunately I lost my last year's email due to HD failure... Yes, it seems that I'm currently the greatest italian laserdisc collector, and I'm proud! Julien, personally I think it's better to start a section about italian laserdisc but still written in english, so every user could understand. Greetings, Andrea |
