I'm Max, from SF, been into LDs back and forth since the early 90s, especially when I lived in Japan.

First I'd like to thank Julien and everyone here for creating such great space about LDs!

Through the years I ended with a decent collection of anime, which is 99% of my LDs , my initial setup was/is a PVM 20M2U with a CLD-V2600, plus a pair of V2800 as spare... I'd say definitively plenty to enjoy anime, and not a big deal having only the analog output for the audio, in that setup at least.

I've been recently working on my living room setup, previously focused mainly on vinyl stereo, so I was able to source a single owner CLD-97 here in the bay and pick it up without shipping...combined with a DVDO Edge on my projector, I'm more than happy with the final result when it comes to anime, so now my main concern is keeping the gear healthy and running...I have some experience in working on electronics, a pretty decent amount of gear to work on it including a scope, but I get LD players are on a league of their own, so I'm looking forward to learn and possibly give back to this great community!

I also was able to repair a DVL-91 and ended with a working LD-V2020 industrial player, for which I see not much pictures/documentation around, so my first thread* will be contributing with what I have! (spoiler: my guess it's it is the same as a CLD-919/CLD-95 but built like a tank!)
