Hello. I never thought I could own a LD player. I never knew anyone that had one. Is it because they were probably rich!? Haha.
My sister surprised me with a Goodwill purchase of a minty looking Panasonic LX-K770U.
I haven't really tested it yet. It plays printed CDs and burned CD-Rs so that's a good sign, no?
My main goal is to collect music concerts of my favorite bands from the 70s and 80s.
I'd also like to grab a few favorite pre-1995 movie titles for nostalgia. Especially Star Wars IV-VI.

PS. This website feels older than Laserdisc. Ha. :o

Absolutely. When servicing a combo unit, the first thing I play is a CD.

It's definitely *still* that very often, thanks to eBay.

I hope you enjoy LD. If you're interested in old, unusual/innovative tech, you'll get a kick out of it. Just keep your expectations in check for the video quality. It's better than VHS. :)

Concert videos are one of the best things about the format, have fun!

The Star Wars thing won't just be nostalgia, it will be the proper presentations before Lucas went insane.
