Hello there, I've consulted this fine website a few times but I've never registered an account until now. I've had a small laserdisc collection for a while, but only recently have I begun the endeavor to expand it.

My daily driver is a Pioneer LD-V4400, but I'm kicking myself for not jumping on an LD-V8000 while they were still cheap. I've got a couple others, including a Pioneer PR-8210 that, sadly, I cannot use because I have no space to devote to just that. Works great, though. Also just recently picked up a Sansui SV-L1000 with what sounds like a bad spindle motor, because not only did it not have enough torque to spin the movie I tried putting in, but it made a HORRENDOUS squealing sound when I tried a regular CD. I'm hoping I can fix it.

The Sansui looks like a clone of the Pioneer CLD-900 so maybe you can use parts for that to repair it? Might also be a good idea to check out the rubber clamp.

Welcome to the forum.

Yeah looks like CLD-900. If you confirm spindle is bad, you are looking for VXM-044. Can always try disassembling the motor itself too and see what is inside.

Cool, that'll be a huge help when I get around to cracking this thing open. Considering my love for Sansui gear, and this is the only Sansui-branded laserdisc player I've ever seen (even if it is a clone of a Pioneer model), I really want to get this thing running again.

Plus, I always end up finding cool stuff thanks to forums like this.
