Hello, 50 year old collector and viewer of LD format. Last year at the start of Covid, I was looking at LD players and movies and realized there are some great finds at great prices. What started off slowly has blossomed into an obsession. initially, my parents first purchased a betamax, then later on, a VHS player... Upon receiving my first laserdisc by mail, I had a rush of a sensation of being a teenager at the Video Store, and the smell of fresh popcorn in the air and the huge screen TVs playing Indiana Jones on laserdisc. I'm amazed at the selection of classic movies, that you sometimes can't find on VHS anymore or haven't switched to DVD or Bluray. I'm a collector of Vinyl records too so the size of the LD is awesome too. I can see for those who started back in the day with laserdisc players how much fun it was to watch the movies. |
