Agree whole-heartedly!

They call it a Royale with cheese!
What do they call a big mac?

One thing I feel with Tarantino films is that once you really start to watch films you see what his films are.

Also another thing I feel is that they were great pre internet, you didn't know of some things or only if you were able to afford to travel to
know that they call it a royale with cheese.

Remember having my first pomme frites when I was in Canada at around 14 or 16 and others when I came back never heard of such a thing.

So I guess its that type of exposure thing, how old you were when you saw it and what else you were exposed to before or after.

A Big Mac is a Big Mac except they call it Le Big Mac.

Picked this up locally for pennys locally was quite chuffed.
My first DTS title, and just in time for my new 5.1 set up.

I remember enjoying it when it first came out, remember it had a mad max feel.
What better way to see if it still holds up than on Laserdisd right? :shifty:

Yep. The same thing goes for The Matrix. If you saw the movies these things cribbed from first...honestly it’s kind of hard to sit through the million dollar ripoffs.

Very true. I personally cannot stand Reservoir Dogs, yer man even stole the line 'Let's go to work' from City On Fire.

These days we call it Cultural Appropriation.

Like when you have a character talk about how cool Sonny Chiba is way before most Americans knew who he was...it sounds like reverence and worldliness in the moment but decades later it may seem more like he just isn’t a guy with a lot of ideas.

Unlike.

It was a shock to the system when I finally saw and taped City on Fire from SBS TV circa 1996. Sure, he stole the f***ing plot and even a few lines but still, still. You got that Tarantino dialogue that wasn't too contrived then, you got the great actors, you got the style, the suits. I think RD is still an achievement and stiill a movie that changed movies for me.

I went off Tarantino with Dirty Thirteen but Hateful 8 was worthy (although not as good as the new Tarantino, Zahler with Bone Tomahawk) and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was so good, even though I hate that little kid in a man's body he keeps casting. Seeing Mansonite hippy abuse was too good. I hate hippies. Never trust a hippy.

Man Bone Tomahawk is such an underrated film, I never hear anyone talk about it- despite having Kurt Russell.

Also for what it's worth, I really like Reservoir Dogs as well; I think it was the movie that made me realize that film is an art, not just entertainment. I've yet to watch City on Fire though, I'll have to track down a copy for my viewing pleasure.

I like all of Tarantinos movies in one respect or another. I even really like his segment in Four Rooms, although the segment directed by Robert Rodriguez is probably the best.

I hated Bone Tomahawk. I thougt the movie was so boring. Essentially two hours of people walking. The ending is so disturbing and comes so out of left field that after two hours of bordem, it cant help but make an impression on you.

Happy to have this in the collection. I hope watching this film with the Japanese dub will be entertaining and hilarious.

I don't understand that sorry. I want to watch Japanese films in Japanese and American films in English. Is that the Woody Allen one?

No the Woody Allen one is Toy Story. If this LD had the English language track I'd watch that but it doesnt. This LD has Japanese language track only. I like the movie and wanted the LD. If the only way I can watch it on LD is in Japanese then so be it. It will definitely be a new and interesting way to experience the film.

 Wow, Woody and Tim Allen couldn't be more different. I never even thought about how they have the same surname.

To be fair to me, Tim Allen voices the character Woody in Toy Story which was a film that preceeded Pixars 'A Bugs Life'. Plus, they have the same surname like you said. Easy mistake I guess.
