I think I've seen later Woo's but those two have been in my collection for years and I have yet to watch them. I really should remedy that.

got Jet Force Gemini on N64 and LittleBigPlanet but the disc and case don't match which kinda of annoys me.

Is LBP disc promo? Or is this a case of greatest hits & original case & disc being mixed up?

Both films are excellent. I personally prefer Hard Boiled but both are stellar views.

its the Playstation 3 writing on the disc but below is how its suppose to be
with this case https://vgcollect.com/item/125989

it is not the greatest hits version. there are 3 versions of Game of the Year Edition apparently.

Annoys me too when old games are mixed up, that is; appears complete but it's actually a frankenstein with different game ID's.
Sellers (and thrift stores obviously) that aren't even casual collectors really can't see the difference.

It has happened to me a few times over the last 6 months or so, notably with PS2 games (early variants I didn't have).

Got a small lot delivered from Japan.

The main target was obviously The Rock DTS.
Sold on most of the other LD's for a good bundle price locally.

Also kept Twister because didn't have it and actually like the movie.

Don't know how I missed this.

I feel the opposite, The Killer is the better film, and I think I would have been disappointed seeing Hard Boiled as my
first Woo film.

And this only pertains to Woo, if you've seen either they are both great but I do own The Killer but never bothered with Hard Boiled.
Either are best Woo's to watch before you watch any of his USA films or even his Kung Fu films.

I agree that The Killer is the best but A Better Tomorrow 1&2 are my second favorite. Hard Boiled is a very well done movie but it’s basically Chinatown with way more violence. The Killer is pure HK roman, it covers so much more ground, one of the best moves ever ever ever.

Spinning the Killer tonight, i guess my Criterion copys are the poorer of the releases but still happy i snagged them.

Edit: seems mine are the latter Criterion releases just lacking CAV format which dont bother me

Enjoy them both!

I would like to add another great HK film to your watch pile though.

Curry and Pepper

The wallet scene is one of my absolute favourites in any HK film!

Bleah. Had all five volumes of Adachi's Slow Step coming in, all but one arrived with deep cracks in the same spot, basically a chunk of the edge hanging on by a thread. And the other one is rotted or something to the point where the sound is completely garbled and the picture is really noisy. Oh well. At least I can submit the covers for the database when I have time.

There were so many more in this lot, but just highlighting these two. The Macross set having the box is super cool, I like it a lot.

Pretty excited about all the music LDs as well, I will add info to the database that is missing from them.

So The Killer has to be up there with one of the best movies ive seen.
Almost felt like standing up and appalling at the end :)
Loved the grainy raw film image that my Criterion release had.

Hard Boiled up soon

I thought you said it was one of the best films you've ever seen?

The Killer is indeed superb. HKR just put out a version of it. It's bootleg of course but yer man behind it does great work. I bought his 2 Disc release of Hard Boiled and it's the best version out there right now imho.

I have The Killer on Criterion Laserdisc too. Did you get the one with the extras on it too?

Don't forget to add Curry and Pepper to your watch pile!

Tell me more about that Sharon Apple box. I'm intrigued! Is it Macross Plus in episode or film form? Is there any extra stuff in there from Yoko Kanno (aka Sharon Apple)?

Mine is Killer, The #284 (1989) [CC1436L]

Which seems to be a bare bones CLV version but has a better transfer.

Curry and Pepper had already been written on the fridge which also confused and helped with the womans last shopping run.
