I came across a collection of 38 different titles. As they are being shipped to me, I've noticed some oddities, but first the normal stuff. The discs (or disks) are pressed in this order of playback quality by these plants: Pioneer (best) Discovision (2nd best) Technidisc (worst) Laser Lock seems to be the major problem amongst the 3. So far, a lot of them are not in the database. I'll work on that next weekend when I'm on vacation. An oddity, new to me: A disc with two side 1s. Titles on the labels match the jacket. Thanks for looking, have another oddity to work on...

Next one, is the single disc title with two discs: This one is in the database. Chevrolet Productivity Network: Passenger Cars: '81 Chevrolet (1981) [GM-183]The first batch came with the jacket and disc marked side one. Also the side two chapters are scribbled out on the front cover. I got two discs later on with no jackets and one was side two of GM-183B and the titles on the label match the jacket. See the big speckles on side two mirror side? You can see through them... The dead sides: Disc one is the usual stuff you have to clean off and disc two is mirror like...

Last week the rest of the Chevy titles came in. Plus a 1983 Oldsmobile disc from a different seller. 1983 Oldsmobile [GM-291]Thought I would add a missing title: Transportation Claims How to get them right... The first time Added it with reference GM-182A. except side 2 is GM-159B which I did not include. Side 1 goes in a jacket, side 2 goes in a box. Side 1 is programmed, side 2 is not. Odd...

happycube wrote: I still don't get why they switched from Pioneer to Technidisc in the mid-80's. Were they getting complaints from dealers that the disks started to actually play well? Money, Money, Money. Technidisc was in Troy Michigan, and could pump the discs out fast because their consumer output was so small (at the time). All the auto manufacturers switched to Technidisc - and the quality shows. So much of that output is utter garbage.
