I was just watching Gate to the Mind's Eye, The (1994) [ID4068MM] and when I reached the 40k range the disc started glitching and skipping back to earlier frames. At first I thought it was the player acting up so I tried another CAV disc which I knew has worked in the past and it played without a hitch so at least now I know it's the disc's fault. Is this the dreaded laserlock?

Wanna know something? I recently got "The Prince and the Pauper" ( PILA-1349), and during the ending scene of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" it started experience laser rot. Just after "The End" card faded out, it began skipping back to the scene with Ichabod's encounter with the Headless Horseman. I should know because it does have a tiny scratch. I mean, it IS a Pioneer Japan disc, nearly all of them aren't prone to skipping, in my opinion.

Or is it because its Pioneer Japan.
