I guess it's time for me to do my Forum Taxes and chime in on how I would compare the Star Wars movies.
I think Episode IX is the worst of them all. It is downright bizarre that this movie got released in the state it did. The bones of the story are bad and the editing is even worse. The entire sequel trilogy is J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson having a back-and-forth argument about what the story should be, and IX is where it really collapses. The excuse that Abrams "had" to cram two movies into one because of VIII is just that: an excuse. Especially because VIII is only what it is because Abrams handed Johnson a movie that ends mid-scene with no notes about what should happen next in the immediate-, short-, mid-, or long-term.
tl;dr: the whole sequel trilogy is a mess, but the last movie is the only one of the Disney-made films that I would say is aggressively putrid. I waffle back and forth on whether it's worse than II.
Here's how I rank them all from best to worst: V, IV, VI, VIII, VII, III, I, II, IX

Of if one wants to call this rot, what we have been calling rot is really a wrong name for rot. What happens when rot really wasn't rot, like Pluto not really being a planet
