Hello everyone! I have just purchased a DVD/Laserdisc combo player, the model is a Pioneer DVL-909. Using red, white, and yellow AVI cables, the Laserdisc part of the player works perfect and is in color. The DVD player part works and has great sound but only shows up in black and white. DVDs show up in color when played on my game systems and my dvd player. I have tried it on two different TVs and the DVDs still show up in black and white. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this so I don't have to return it? Thanks!
I have owned a DVL-909 since it first came out. You have to go into the initial setup menus and set the video output to "composite" if you're going to use the coax composite video out. It is probably currently set to "component". They are not compatible and when you select one, the other only outputs black and white. BTW Laserdiscs will only put out composite (coax or S-Video).
