I keep seeing these pop up here for practically $100. Also how many hentais made to the US market? It would have to be rather low since anime was a really niche market itself. |

p0rn LDs were pricey to begin with. The MSRP for them was usually $59.95. But no, they really shouldn't cost that much 2nd hand, unless they're titles that haven't been re-released on DVD I suppose. I have listed some on The Bay of E that sold for more than $100 which totally surprised me. As far as Hentai in the US goes, I can only name Urotsukidoji and U-Jin Brand. |

He seems to be having slightly better luck on here so far, probably helped by the fact that eBay's Laserporn category has been shut down. As with anything else, they're worth whatever somebody is willing to pay. |

I heard recently it was due to a 'p0rn tax' imposed by Pioneer USA (meaning Pioneer charged extra for the manufacture of p0rn discs) though I haven't been able to verify that information. I always thought the high prices were simply due to lower production numbers when compared with mainstream releases, thus forcing the higher MSRP to recoup costs. |

Just saying I think the customs have a preemption right if they find such material in the mail (it will get destroyed). It's clearly illegal in the USA. Other countries had a much younger age of consent and it's not deemed illegal there. Julien |

eBay restricted their Adults Only section last year so that's going to drive prices up. I had a hell of a time trying to even list a Playboy laserdisc a few months ago because EBay kept rejecting the listing as a violation of their TOS. Ebay has always been silly and prudish about adult material. For like ten years, you couldn't use Paypal (or a credit card) to pay for stuff in the Adults Only section. You had to pay by money order or certified check. |
