Looking for a bit of a player comparison (this is my first player). What do you reckon is better, a Pioneer LD-CLD390, or a Pioneer LD-CLD2730k?
I'm in Australia, and both of these are NTSC players, I'm aware that most discs here are NTSC and that I will need a power converter.
Also, is it standard that all LD players can play CAV discs? I think the frame-by-frame stuff sounds pretty sick.

Thanks.

D390 should be much better than a karaoke player.
I have the d590 which is the model up and is a great player, no R7G but still good.

Can't say ive used frame by frame much at all, think all players can with CAV except maybe some very early players amd oddballs But someone will chime in, wouldn't describe it as 'sick'

Welcome from New Zealand also!

Hey thanks for the reply. I think someone's snagged the D390, which is a shame. Should I still go for the Karaoke machine?
Appreciate your help. :)

CLD-2730K is better built. CLD-D390 would likely have sharper, but noisier picture. I'd go with the CLD-D390 though for AC-3 RF.

Double-check the back, but neither should require a step-down transformer.

I'll have to go for the CLD-2730K though. Unfortunately, the D390 sold. Can I not set up a surround sound system with the CLD-2730K?
Also, do you think $150 AUD is a fair price for the CLD-2730K?
Thanks mate.

I can't speak to the market over there, but if you go for the CLD-2730K budget $20 USD in the event that it needs a new grip ring.
