The database lists some of their titles as being published in the USA, while others in Hong Kong. All of their titles were published in the USA. They are based in San Francisco, and always have been. They've released titles on LaserDisc, VHS, and DVD. The confusion my lay in the fact that their films were all Hong Kong titles. Tai Seng did publish a lot of titles, but for others they just imported the LD and threw a Tai Seng OBI on them. I got this title in NY Chinatown a few years ago (back when they still had video stores): Touch and Go (1991) [TSVM19466] It was clearly just the Mei Ah release: Touch and Go (1991) [ML 320] But with a Tai Seng OBI on it. If I can find it when I get home, I'll post a pic (I just moved, so I'll have to dig a bit.) They did have a number of releases that they localized like Zu:Warriors From the Magic Mountain, The Heroic Trio, Eastern Condors, Prodigal Son, etc., however, I've found that video and audio quality on those are REALLY REALLY bad. |
