A second hand 35mm print might only cost a few hundred.

Or buy that ld recorder on ebay for $300. Import crimson rivers bluray from france for $25. Buy an older bluray player with composite out for like $100. Plug them in and record on Ld. Then order the jacket from one of the print houses, say they charge you $200(probably way less). So about $600 you could have any Ld custom made for you.
Ohh if you want a sealed Ld? Thats even easier and cheaper. Again have a print house make you the jacket,put aliens,jurassic park or id4 inside.then seal with shrink wrap. Since you will never open it,pride it as a very rare sealed copy of crimdon rivers therefor who cares whats in it?

Hey - it would probably be worth more as it could be put down to a manufacturing fault!
Seriously though imagine the horror of buying a $6000 LD sealed only to find many years later it contains one of those old duffs!!!

Fortunately this copy is open/used. Imagine if it was sealed,the asking price would be $25000

Just think' you could purchase two serviced HLD X0's and still have change to purchase around 3 or four Muse Titles for that kind of spondoolies.

It's comforting to know that this title isn't on my wish list.

It just shows how far some of the Japanese Laserdisc titles are going for now.
I better take good care of my collection. . . . . . Frightening to say the least.

I imported the taiwanese release of crimson rivers on bluray. I think its a direct port from the french release as all the menus are the same. I liked the movie. I think its one of the most popular early 2000 titles in Europe. I dont think this ld is english friendly.probably french track japanese subs.

Since the movie is spoken in French with Japanese subtitles and most US citizens only understanding English, it would be difficult to sell this title
even at a reasonable price with the majority of collectors being the US. When I was collecting WWII movies there were a couple I didn't bother buying due to not understanding the language. I did however accidentally bought one japan movie like this and have been trying to sell it for a long time without any success.
I believe when a person owns a title he/she can ask any price they want since they own it but the question would be how successful in selling it for a price that collectors think is unreasonable. to each his own!

What is the most expensive title on LD that has sold, anyone know. Was it the one a few weeks ago?
