I think my copy of The Faculty is sought after because people seemed annoyed on reddit when I posted it and then a guy made fun of me for how much I paid for it and I don't know how he knew what I paid for it since I accepted a best offer. I thought that was suppose to be private information. Then other people claimed someone else paid a lot more for it so someone said I didn't really overpay. Also this ld doesn't pop up often. Wow, I went back to my reddit post and several posts are missing. The one person who made fun of me for buying for it the price I bought it for which they shouldn't have known since I accepted a best offer and another post telling me someone paid I think around 500-600 bucks for it which is cray-cray to me.

Not sure about Blade Runner DC...

So the whole point was to show off your collection?

Yeah last one sold for over 300 bucks. Wanted that in my collection but I have my cut off point and I won't spend over 300 bucks. And the one before that sold for over 400 bucks.

Let’s see…

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
The Hunt for Red October
Speed

Original cost, about $40, $35, $30 respectively, I think. Now worth $4 total, at one time these were THE discs to have, as evidenced by their being duplicates in all our collections.

When I made that video where I opened up a copy of Speed? Amazingly I was wrong when I said I didn’t own the movie. I later found that I already did so even I have two copies. UBIQUITOUS. It’s probably the best of the three, so that’s something. I’m never watching any of these stupid movies again. That Robin Hood in particular is absolutely unwatchable crap. Kevin Costner is the only person on earth luckier than Ringo Starr, I swear…

What people like now…no idea. But it ain’t these three movies. There’s a lesson there.

My top wishlist is quite off-track I suppose:

Stakker: Eurotechno [PILP-1009]
Iron Giant, The (1999) [17644]
Madonna: The Video Collection 93:99 (1999) [ID8713WO]
Titan A.E. (2000) [PILA-3043]
Bruce Dickinson: Dive! Dive! Live! World Tour 1990 (1991) [TOLW-3089]

They really don't show up often.

gathering from the above opinions and comments, in the sole investment pt of view, i believe the deep blue sea / matrix may worth to store and wait a quite long time . the rest LD should have not much investment values (emotion value is other thing)

Oh if you want to invest why don't you invest in property or stocks, that will bring you the most bang for your buck.

With value of niche hobbies being nearly 100% subjective, can we omit the disparaging comments out of having manners and respect for other members here ?

I mean, I would not pay doodly squat for much that is auctioned at a Sotheby's or like auction that go for millions.

Will not even mention my marble collection for peeps to crap on the amount of money spent on things I love and others could not give a rip about !

Com-on man !

Don't type unkind things even if true for YOU !
(I AM NOT REFERRING TO ZETA's POST)

Cheers mates

My contempt for speculative investors, both wannabe and real, overrides any of that.

My thoughts exactly. Speculative investment isn't a niche hobby; it's parasitism of niche hobbies.

Why so serious ?
Why bring contempt to the forum ?
Why so hostile to suggested preservation of a modicum of decorum here at the LDDB Forum ?

Whatever axe you need to grind, look deep, what we dislike overtly, we frequently find in ourselves.

Pushback about suggesting we have some respectful manners ? Wow ?

One of the cultural origins of rudimentary manners goes back to eating peacefully with others so that the threat of being killed while dining was ameliorated.....

Whats the real beef here ?
Why the angst ?
Enlighten me please.

Cheers to the membership.
