Hi Everyone,

I am proud to announce that on Friday I will be officially celebrating 25 years of collecting laserdiscs. On April 20, 1987, I bought my first player, a Luxman D-408, which I am happy to say is still working just fine. It leads a pretty easy life these days. Also, on that date, I bought my first 4 laserdiscs. I think they were the Pan & Scan release of Dirty Harry, the old MGM/UA releases of A Day at the Races and The Wizard of Oz, and The Sender. Of course, I still have all of them in my collection. I know you are wondering how I will celebrate this milestone anniversary. Well, how better than to add more titles into this great database? I just received a package with about 50 titles from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China. It is another treasure trove of rare gems from the Orient! Many of them are exclusive releases, with no USA or Japan equivalents. None of them are currently listed here, but hopefully they will be very soon, if Julien is up to the task of validating them! I am currently in the process of compiling all of the information about them, and will be submitting it in the next few days for Julien's approval. Keep your eye on the "newly added" section of the Top 100 in the days to come. They should be appearing there very soon! Until then, everyone keep fighting the good fight, and keep faith in the format!

Peace,
David

Congratulations!

Back in 1987 I was learning mathematics with figures no greater than 1000.

Congratulations on the milestone. I just checked on ebay and I bought my first player 06 Feb 2011...I've got a bit of catching up to do.

Here's to another 25 years!
