I noticed a lot of late 90s and 2000 Japanese LaserDiscs have catalogue numbers starting in either "PILA" or "PILF" which piques my curiosity. Why are some PILA and others PILF? Are they acronyms? I assume P stands for Pioneer and L stands for LaserDisc. Is there any actual difference between PILA discs and PILF discs?
