Post subject:  Looking to buy a physical or pdf copy of a service manual

Hello friends, I'm looking to gladly purchase or if I find it for free that's great too, either a physical copy/photocopy, or just a PDF file, of the pioneer vp-1000 service manual. I still have my original pioneer vp-1000 and I want to bring it back to life because cosmetically it's great, it probably just needs a few new caps. But I don't have the schematics nor the service manual and I don't want to tear it apart without having those first. Does anybody have any ideas or any leads on that? Recently there was a service manual for sale on eBay but it already got sold to somebody else. Any help you can give is so greatly appreciated you have no idea. Thank you everyone!

I guess you are looking for this manual:
VP-1000-EN_Scan.pdf
for your
Pioneer VP-1000?

Sadly it does not contain any details schematics.

Edit:
This is the only thing I was able to find online.
lphl2sch.pdf

Edit 2:
Had to keep searching...
Seem you could purchase all the required manuals (prints) here:
Stereomanuals

Cheers,
Markus

Thanks Markus, no there is an actual manual called the pioneer vp1000 service manual, there are multiple images of the manual in Google images of the cover and the one copy that was for sale was on ebay. But it's not the owner's manual it's specifically the service manual that I'm looking for, it includes complete teardown instructions and schematics.

Then I think you might want to check out the Service Manual #2 (updated version from 1983) at stereomanuals. Just scroll down a few lines.

Hi, Mike-
I think you are looking for the manual in my picture. It does indeed contain many double-page schematic diagrams and board layout pictures.

The other manual in my picture is one called "Calibration procedures for VP-1000". It was created by the Pioneer USA service department, as a more-easily understood (in the USA) manual based on their actual experiences, if I remember right. They sent both of these manuals to me in 1985 when I repaired my VP-1000.

Ideally, I would do full scans of both of these manuals and upload them here, but finding the time to do so will be an issue. Let me know if you are able to get what you need from the site mentioned above or not, and I will plan to get these manuals scanned "at some point", ideally sooner rather than later.

Chris

What I would love to find, is a service manual for the Magnavox VH8000 Laser Disc player. I have the Sams Photofact manual for it, but that apparently does not include any of the optical alignment/calibration/repair information.

@chrisw6atv - The site does have the manual, but a photocopy is $50 plus shipping. I think that is a bit much, but I would be happy to pay you to scan yours then upload it so that we can all share it and not just one of us. Do you think you might consider doing this for us? Both of the manuals you have are perfect, and just what the doctor ordered!

Thanks so much again for all of your help,

Mike

Mike, I will be happy to scan and share my manuals, without charge. I agree that making them available here is good for the community. Ideally, I can get going on this within the next week.
