Makes you wonder who the real trolls are!! Guy posts regularly arguing his opinions and facts. Some folks don't like the way he does it or what he has to say. So they pop into the thread to start the name calling or belittling. Are they the real trolls? Hummmm. Elvis

Thank goodness we have the Nazi LD board police to help guide us, NOT. Get lost!!! You don't like it, ignore it.

So you got it, though I should have used restraint or just ignored you. Yes, your post was trolling or better yet NAZI Patrolling. Elvis

Elvis Writing you were posting in the wrong thread is not calling you a name. That is not what those words mean in the slightest. I literally did not call you by any sort of name. I wrote that you were in the wrong thread, because you were. OP was asking about how much longer we think physical media will stick around, but then you tried to fit in a jab at LD (because that's what you do in just about every thread you post in), even though it was completely, 100%, irrelevant to the topic. There's already a thread about whether or not you think LD will make a comeback (the thread I linked to) and this isn't it. Calling someone a Nazi IS name calling. That is what that means and that is an example of it.

elahrairrah wrote: There's a simpler solution than arguing . . . Good advice. Also for Naiaru, the title was Redux, meaning to redo the previous subject which did lead into the LD question. So I added my input to my other thoughts, which you so glaringly decided to be a smart alec and jump in to make a trolling point and again offer nothing to the subject at hand. Also I should add it's not the first time you and fellow troll ri rex or whatever have trolled my threads. Elvis

It has an interesting interview with The Cult along with a review of their new album 'Choice of Weapon'. In the review there is a quote from Ian Astbury previously declaring emphatically 'There will be no new album. Nobody buys albums. It's an arcane format.' Yet here we are with a new album!....they tried the whole multi-media capsule thing and it didn't work. I have never downloaded a single track by any artist I collect yet I have thousands of CDs so if any band wants to grab my attention they will need to continue with a physical format otherwise I will just switch off.

Well, believe it or not, I'm in the same camp whether I like it or not. Just for different reasons. Other than the occasional trade via digital, which of course is original material from hard media. All my sound track media is via hard media. Digital media doesn't yet compare to the quality of hard media. Which goes to the heart of my argument against DRM until it can fullfill this gap, it will not snuff out hard media. Then for a longer period of time, there will be those who still will want hard media regardless. Elvis P.S. Although it is nice to pre-listen to tracks online and view information about hard media before purchase.

Me too - I often use youtube or amazon to listen to songs to see what I might like to purchase but have so far resisted the temptation to actually pay for a digital download! I love buying music and have spent more on that than any other thing in my life but I like something physical which is tangible.

I'm quite certain that quite a few younger than myself wouldn't bat an eye at the thought of not having a disc to throw into a drive. But I just struggle with it. I haven't even bought a single piece of downloadable material. I only ever buy physical media - CDs, LDs, DVDs, BDs. This is EXACTLY the point I was trying to make with this thread. A friend of mine (virtually the same age) said I was the only one he knew who still drives around with a stack of CDs in their car .
